Notes from Tristan:

I’m mostly just trying to repeat what I’ve learned 2nd/3rd hand through working with the Madison College Marketing Team and trying to imitate what I think we are currently doing on the colleges websites. I think this is mostly modern, but things change so fast in regards to website development and website marketing that it’s kind of hard to nail down what is best to do.

  1. This can eventually become the landing page for the website assuming we can fully flesh out the page content. Since this will be the first thing any visitor sees, all the most important information should be at the top of the page or as close as possible. Who you are, what you are able to do for customers, how to get in touch, etc. The main goal would be to get visitors to fill out the contact form and start talks with Blu J Productions.
  2. After any primary information, we can display recent blog posts / news posts. The ideal is probably a vertical column of blog posts with the most recent being at the top. To one side of the blog post feed, there would be a search field and search filters for the posts. Filters would probably have categories as the primary filter and tags as a secondary filter. Search filters can be kind of a pain to get set up right, so it will probably take a bit of tweaking.
  3. SEO seems to like there to be links from this page to other pages, so adding extra links can be helpful. Internal links and External links have an affect on SEO score. I wouldn’t worry too much about this though.
  4. Embedded images or videos can help boost SEO scores
